Upon arrival at Uyuni airport or bus terminal, our private transport will be waiting to give initial instructions and transfer you to the city center for free time to have breakfast. We pick you up from the meeting point at approximately 9:30 AM.
First, we’ll visit the Train Cemetery on the outskirts of the city, where abandoned locomotives recall the mining glory days of the region. Then we head to Colchani village to see artisans and salt extraction. We enter the stunning Salar de Uyuni and arrive at the world’s first Salt Hotel (now a museum).
Along the way, observe fantastic optical illusions (during rainy season) and the Eyes of Water – small salt eruptions explaining the formation of this infinite salt sea. At midday, reach Incahuasi Island in the heart of the salt flats, home to giant cacti, marine fossils, local wildlife, and panoramic views from the summit.
In the afternoon, head to a special spot for the spectacular sunset over the salt flats. Return to Uyuni around 7:30 PM.

Entrance tickets to Uyuni Salt Flats and attractions are personal, non-transferable, and generally non-refundable per local regulations, similar to other protected sites.
For the Uyuni tour, what should I do with my luggage? Should I leave it at the hotel or take it with me?
Bring one backpack with essentials for the day. Main luggage can be left securely at your Uyuni hotel storage at no extra cost during the tour.

What is the best currency to use in Bolivia, dollars or bolivianos, and where should I exchange?
USD widely accepted in Uyuni (especially small bills); Bolivianos (BOB) best for markets. Exchange USD at reliable casas de cambio or banks in town for good rates.
